Recently, our team had the opportunity to visit a local brewery for our quarter 3 event and it turned out to be an experience that was both productive and enjoyable. The brewery, Treaty City Brewery, is nestled in a charming medieval quarter of Limerick City, with its rustic brick walls and large windows inviting us inside. We were greeted by the head brewer, who was as enthusiastic about sharing his craft as he was knowledgeable.

We enjoyed a guided tour of the brewing process where we learned about the intricate steps of beer production, from selecting the right ingredients to fermentation and bottling. The brewer explained how each component impacts flavor, and we marveled at the giant stainless-steel tanks filled with bubbling brews.

The highlight of the tour was definitely the drinks tasting, where we sampled a variety of beers, each with its own distinct character. We savored everything from crisp lagers to hoppy IPAs, each sip sparking conversations about flavor profiles and our personal preferences.

Following the tour, we enjoyed a delicious BBQ catered by a local heritage pub, Katie Daly’s, next door to the local brewery where we got the chance to reflect on our work and catch up with colleagues in a more relaxing setting.

Our trip to the brewery was a refreshing reminder of the importance of balance between work and play. It highlighted the value of experiential learning and provided an opportunity for us to unwind, connect, and inspire one another. Next quarter the team event will be the annual Christmas Party- where does the time go?!
